How we work

What happens on the first call

Twenty minutes with a mental health counsellor (CSM), no clinical assessment and no obligation — exactly what follows after you send the form.

Most people postpone their first contact with a practice for months. Not because they don’t need it, but because they don’t know what happens after they press “Send”. So here is exactly what happens.

We call you, within one working day

After the form, the mental health counsellor (CSM) calls you in the time window you picked in the form itself. We don’t pass you between receptions and we don’t ask you to call back. One scheduled call, around twenty minutes.

What we talk about

Three things, in plain language:

  • What brings you here — what this period looks like for you, in your own words.
  • What would fit you — online or in-practice format, time slots, preferences about the specialist.
  • What the right first step is — psychotherapy, a psychiatric consultation or, sometimes, a medical check before anything else.

At the end we tell you concretely who we would match you with and when the first session could start. If we are not the right service for your situation, we tell you that too — and point you towards what makes sense.

What this call is NOT

It is not a clinical assessment and it is not a therapy session. You don’t receive a diagnosis over the phone, nobody asks for your full medical history, and you don’t have to “prove” that things are hard enough. It is an orientation conversation, nothing more.

What we don’t ask

We don’t request results from other assessments and we don’t store them. If you have ever completed an assessment on the Burn the Burnout platform, the result stays there — the CSM asks at most whether you did one, to understand the context, and the rest is a phone conversation, not a data transfer.
